One way ticket to crazy town...

I love my kids. I love my life. I'm blessed in so many ways but that doesn't mean winter and being cooped up with said loving children doesn't make me feel like this...a lot...like all the time lately...

Kate did a great job at her ELP speech and presentation a week ago. I was almost completely hands off. Thankfully she has a wonderful ELP teacher who works with the kids weekly to research and prepare. Kate chose to study Pocahontas and I learned some things from her that I didn't know before. She is so smart and cute.

CJ is super helpful around the house...when she chooses to be. She often asks if she can help with anything. This night she asked to wash dishes. Most needed to be rewashed after she went to bed but I didn't tell her that. Just ignore the missing register cover and lack of quarter round. Everything is done in super duper small steps around here. :)

Oh, and this is CJ's favorite outfit. She would wear it every minute of every day if we let her.
I think she looks SO much like me in this picture.

And Natalie has been my shadow all winter. I think that is pretty self explanatory.
I do not know what is on her face but I DO know she was following me in this picture.

We had our second Dad v Girls basketball game, also known as Denver Nugget(s) v "the Iowa States."
And guess what, the girls pulled out a win.
We played a third game, winner takes the title but we had two quick injuries back to back so we called the game. Kate's been begging for a rematch ever since.

We don't call fouls, otherwise every single point scored would be from free throws.
There is lots of fouling.

And where was CJ you wonder? She was washing dishes...by choice.

And where was Maddie?
She was here...

and here...

and here...

Maddie has greatly expanded her food choices.
It's always fun to watch your kids try new foods.

We make lots of art in winter. What else are we gonna do when it's 0 degrees?

One day I grabbed a couple of boxes from the basement and made a play washer and dryer.
It was a mega hit for 10 whole minutes.

I try really hard to be a good sport about winter. I like playing in the snow but I was really, truly a person designed for warmer temps. I'm (im)patiently waiting for tulips, sunshine, puddles, muddy butts from park slides, picnics in the grass, climbing trees, sandbox play, pushing girls on the swing, and the list goes on. Come on spring!
