Things around here...

I just hopped onto the ol' blog and discovered I have only posted a measly three times this month...and March is just about done. Say what? I'm not sure how it happened. Time has passed me by. I look at the calendar and see that it is officially spring. I look at my kids and wonder how they grew so much over night. I look in the mirror and sometimes don't recognize my own aging face. When did I become 35? I feel more like a young, spunky 21 year old who is just stuck babysitting for a realllly long time. But oh yeah, they are really mine. Pretty cool! (My thoughts are all over the place today.) So what have we been up to??? Not too much beyond the ordinary... Getting ready for the day is like trying to catch a mouse in a house of mirrors. Craziness. This morning I had to say "CJ" 10 times in one minute. I'm just going to start calling her George or Wilbur or something unusual. Maybe that will help get her attention. Here I snapped a picture of us

March Madness is a big deal in our house. The first couple days of the tournament Matt takes off from work in the afternoon, brings home takeout for lunch, we put the girls to nap and watch endless basketball games while we stuff our faces. It is the kind of date I dreamed of as a girl. Each year many of our extended family members create their own bracket and join in a family pool. No money is at stake, although that idea is kind of intriguing. Of course I participate each year too and after I make my picks and before the games begin I type out an extraordinarily long blog post detailing my rationale for choosing team A over team B. I halfway debated not writing the post this year because I thought it was played out. But upon suggesting this I was boo-ed by my husband and so here I sit.  My rationale is usually simple or at least I feel that way. I will admit I am prone to sometimes simply choosing the higher seed and I have been caught watching ESPN at the gym trying to catch

Natalie...

This little girl continues to amaze me with her constant smiles and adorable chubby cheeks. She has started rolling from back to tummy and then struggles liked a beached whale to go anywhere else.  (I mean beached whale in the most endearing way possible.) Natalie LOVES her sisters.  Kate and CJ have an incredible talent at turning Natalie's occasional frowns to giggles. Natalie especially loves to watch her sisters jump.  For some reason it causes endless smiles and laughter. While she hasn't started eating solids yet you can tell Natalie is ready.  She watches in awe as the rest of us enjoy dinner.  Don't worry sweet girl. Soon you too will enjoy rice cereal and veggies. :) What a fantastic five months it has been with this little girl in our family. Happy 5 months Natalie!
