Three cheers and three inches...
This morning I sip my coffee (with extra half and half) while listening not to the sweet lullaby of robins enjoying spring but rather construction dudes jack hammering into pavement as our house gently shakes her old bones. A water main broke outside our house over the weekend and the neighborhood kids thoroughly enjoyed a babbling brook in the middle of town. It was a good weekend here. No, a great weekend. And how could you not have a fabulous time with weather in the 70's and sunny skies?
We have some new neighbors next door and they are terrific. They have two boys and our big girls are thrilled to have friends to play with. They spent the weekend squirting box elder bugs with spray bottles which of course led to them squirting each other, soaking their clothes completely and laughing hysterically. If any of this is a sign of the summer to come I think it will be a super one.
Sunday night Matt was taking a break from prep work for his ongoing jury trial and read some old blog posts. We reminisced over stories and photos; pictures of the girls from a year or two ago in which they now look like babies compared to today. Looking at those posts made me nostalgic for blogging and so I flipped on the television this morning, put aside cleaning (who likes to clean anyway!) and loaded some photos from the camera. I am determined to begin blogging again, if for no other reason then to document these days of my girls growing up.
Speaking of growing up... Last week Natalie was subjected to the dreaded immunizations and at 6 months old she is 18 lbs 9 oz and 28 inches long. She grew three inches in two months. The doctor was a little surprised so he remeasured her and sure enough the girl is growing like a weed.
Yep, the blog and I are back together... at least that is my plan. It has been more challenging then ever to carve out time to blog but this phase too shall pass. So three cheers to future blog posts to come, I think.
Kate broke out the shorts...and a strange hat.
Natalie finally bared her arms after six months of hiding them and CJ bared a whole lot more.
Kate reading to her Great Grandma Bogan.

Growing makes a girl tired...
