Freebie Friday...Mother's Day Style

Happy Mother's Day to you all!
I hope you will remember to give a little shout out to your mama this weekend.

I've been thinking a lot about books lately.
I love a good book.
But they are hard to come by.
There are a million books out there that are just ok and about a billion more that are blah.

So when you find a good book you want to tell everyone.

Well, one of my favorite books is...get the jokes ready....I can handle your judgements...
Twilight

I don't care what you say.
I love it.  So there.  It has been said.

On this particular Freebie Friday I have decided to give away a book.
But don't worry, it isn't Twilight.

It is this one...

So how can you win it?

Post a comment telling me what is one of your favorite books.

Really this is a Freebie Friday for me too because maybe someone will suggest a book I will love.

If I am forced to name just two of my favorite books:

Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
It has been so long since I've actually sat down to read a good book for pure pleasure (i.e. not a book about parenting or spiritual growth or other self-help). Although I was an avid reader growing up I just don't seem to make the time anymore. However, I really like all the John Grisham novels and enjoy listening to them as audio books when I can.

Just so you know, I have the first two books in the Twilight series sitting underneath my bed. I'm dying to read them b/c I know I'll love them, but I just can't commit the time (i.e. totally neglecting everyone and everything else until I'm done) right now. Maybe that's another reason why I've avoided any good fiction. I have a very hard time putting it down once I start. I once read the entire Harry Potter #5 book in one sitting (except for food and bathroom breaks) when I was home for Christmas break in college. I think I finished at 4:00am. :o)

Fab Five by Mitch Albom*

* This recommendation is made contingent upon the fact that I do not have to read The Wedding or whatever chick book was offered.
I seldom read books for my pleasure. I use to belong to a book club and found I would rather read the book instead of doing my chores.
My favorite was Gone With The Wind. I have seen the movie and read the book a couple times.
After having kids and grandkids I have read mnay many Little Golden
Books etc. Do you remember sarah?

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.

Praying for Gil Hodges by Thomas
Oliphant

Being a Dodger fan helps you love the second book.

My current favorite read is one I just finished with. "The Hole in Our Gospel" It is written by the guy that is president of World Vision right now. It is so inspiring. I am even thinking of doing the bible study that was written to go along with the book.

Don't pick me to win the book. I have already read The Wedding. It is also highly recommended though. :)
"The Hole in the Gospel" is currently available as the free audio book download of the month from www.christianaudio.com. Look on the right side of the home page. :o)

P.S. I really like some of the classics, too, like "Gone with the Wind" and "Tale of Two Cities".
