Maternity Clothes Debacle

I'm in an awkward clothing stage right now. My non pregnant clothes no longer fit but my maternity clothing is much, much too large. I spend most of the time when home with Kate in comfy, sweat pants because nothing else fits. When I go out I, of course, change clothes but am constantly uncomfortable. I recently saw some pics of pregnant celebrities and thought - ah, ha - maybe I'll get some fashion ideas from these famous women. Nope. Here is an example of what you will not find me wearing.

Boy can I relate to what you are going through! I started this pregnancy about 20lbs lighter than I did with Ellie. I'm 31 weeks now, and still none of my maternity clothes from last time fit, even from early pregnancy.

My savior early on was belly bands. My mom gave me some expensive ones she ordered online, but I've been seeing them recently at Target.

They sit over the top of unbuttoned pre-pregnancy jeans, and now even in late pregnancy I wear it over my maternity jeans as belly coverage, because my shirts are starting to let some of my BIG belly peek out. Plus I constantly feel like my elastic waist pants are falling down, and it acts as a sort of belt.

I have one in black and white.

Good luck!
That is some kind of maternity outfit, I think the polka dots are the cherry on top. Just as a warning, if you ever wear something like that, I'm not sure if I would laugh or just stare.
LOL! I saw that picture online, too. It was taken on her due date. Maternity clothes aren't nearly as much fun the second time around. I made the all-in switch pretty easily b/c I had a few pairs of "fat pants" (one each of black, khaki & jeans) to tide me over that are too big in the waist when I'm not pregnant but too small when I'm further along. They were purchased specifically for that purpose the first time around. They also worked nicely for awhile on the post-partum side. :o) Don't worry though--the belly will come! ;o)

Ha. I was going to comment on the Bella Bands, but I see that someone else already did. That's definitely something I will invest in if I ever become pregnant again.
