Smarty Pants


Kate has successfully completed her halogram Disney princess puzzle SO many times.
Too many times actually.
She has begun putting the puzzle together...upside down.
All she can see is white but she fits the pieces together by looking at the shape of the pieces.

Get this girl to Cambridge because she is on her way to Harvard.
OK...so I'm bias...

Emily has started doing that once or twice with a puzzle, too. Makes me wonder.

The kids & I left for NW Iowa this morning. I was planning to go to MMO, but I took too long packing and had to wake Lincoln up at 8:45am, so I just decided to skip. Did I miss anything good?

parent are - also her Grandpaernts.All of her GREAT GrandParents are. Also her aunt & uncles! Why wouldn't she be? {smile]

Good job Kate! Wendell is just starting to put puzzles together. He usually picks a color and goes with it. He doesn't seem to understand there are straight edges and then curvey sides... makes you wonder how their brains see the puzzle pieces.

Surfactant Leaching & Chemical Dependency

You are probably looking at my post title and thinking...what?!  I'm reading up about surfactant leaching.  I have self diagnosed our bathroom with this disorder.  Basically, surfactants in the wall paint (I'm guessing it is some kind of chemical) is leaching and running down the walls.  According to various online 'experts' who appear much smarter than I, the leaching is due to us not giving the paint the proper amount of time to dry before showering.  Bummer. So begins work week in the Craft household.  One project for work week is to...tackle surfactant leaching. Work week begins tonight...although I already did some caulking so I guess it truly began this afternoon.  The caulk job took all of 30 minutes.  And yet I'm tired.  Which brings me to the second half of my post title; chemical dependency. We probably end up shopping at Target at least once a week. But last weekend we ended up at the Cedar Falls Target and the girls decided it warranted a brief photo shoot. Aren't they so adorable. CJ was with us too but she opted out. Brown Bottle dinner to celebrate Grandpa Craft's 75 birthday! Maddie has been having fun creating faux fingernails out of paper. They don't last long but they sure are cute. This photo is just one pair she made. Mike and I ran a 5K a few weeks ago. He has run a lot of 5Ks in the past few years and I am just now making my return to running. I was not at all fast but I am proud that I'm getting back out there.
